Nearly all AT&T customers’ data exposed in breach – KTEN [Video]

(KTEN) – “Nearly all” of AT&T’s one hundred and ten million customers’ data was compromised, according to a release from the major telecommunications provider.

“They could scam you or something like that with my phone number or email out there,” said Ella Winslett, an AT&T customer.

Leaving many concerned for their privacy and security of their personal information.

“If it did affect me personally or my family line yeah I’d consider switching,” Winslett said.

The data exposed ranges from phone calls and text messages from may 1st to October 31st of 2022, and January 2nd 2023.

That includes every phone number customers called or texted during that time frame. Details about who called or texted who, and the duration.

The stolen data reportedly did not include the content of the calls or messages.

The release said the data was illegally downloaded on a third party cloud platform.
