SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – This week on Matters of the State, we look at the push for — and against — ballot measures to be decided in the general election.

Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken is part of a group campaigning against Initiated Measure 28, which would repeal the state grocery tax; while a former Republican state lawmaker is voicing her support for Amendment G, which would restore abortion access previously allowed under Roe v. Wade.

State Sen. Steve Kolbeck (R-Brandon) joins the program to discuss a legislative summer study examining the use of artificial intelligence in state government as well as regulating internet access for minors. The group is also studying the possibility of banning cell phones for students in school.

Matters of the State airs Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on KSFY, and 10 a.m. on KOTA.
