We are excited to announce a brand-new offering in the Master Artisan Collection from iconoclastic luthier Leo Scala! Ten new one-of-a-kind Master Artisan Collection guitars straight from the mind and workshop of one of the foremost creative luthiers in the world.

Having created a single Theodore™ Retroliner model as part of one of his previous Master Artisan releases in cooperation with Gibson Custom, Master Artisan Leo Scala has now created a new series of 10 Master Artisan interpretations of the Gibson Theodore. Like their Leo Scala-crafted predecessor, each one is distinctive, individual, and absolutely one-of-a-kind. Leo took the Theodore and added his own creative touches to the design and created gorgeous works of art that are designed to play and sound as good as they look.

Watch as Gibson Gear Guide host Dinesh Lekhraj sits down with Master Artisan Leo Scala to discuss the unique features and demonstrate the incredible sonic qualities of these unique, one-of-one custom-built guitars. Leo’s approach to their aesthetic was to combine classic looks with hot rod-inspired elements, along with the thoughtful details that are a hallmark of his work. The pickups–the engines of the Theodore Retroliners–are Leo Scala custom hand-wound “Retrophonic” models, which means every guitar will have its own unique voice. No two guitars sound the same.
