In the first half cheers mostly came from Hawkeye fans, but that shifted in the second half as the Cyclones started to take the lead.
DES MOINES, Iowa — Hundreds of fans came together at Cowles Commons to cheer on their team for one of the biggest games in Iowa.
It’s a game that even has some households divided.
“I want to see a Hawkeye win,” Jana Dunt said.
Jana’s husband Dean Dunt is a Cyclone fan.
“I just hope that Iowa State keeps up with a good game,” Dean said.
During the first half, cheers came from Hawkeye fans while Cyclone fans felt frustration. However, in the second half more celebration came from Cyclone fans as Iowa State started scoring.
“It’s nice being in a good environment where you can cheer when there’s a first down, cheer when there’s a touchdown or feel really bad when there’s a touchdown,” Cyclones fan Cyote Williams said.
