SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Dozens of leaders from across the community got a better understanding of our educational system thanks to Springfield Public Schools’ Principal for a Day program.
More than 50 principals across the district gave their visitors a top-to-bottom look at what goes into educating students in Springfield on Friday.
One of those guest principals was new Missouri State University President Biff WIlliams. He said the experience brought back memories from his days of teaching elementary school physical education.
Now, Williams appreciates the chance to connect with students and staff in his new hometown.
“I think it’s important to get in the community, and our Springfield Public Schools are such a strong school district. I think it’s good for me to get out and about and meet people. To hear how Missouri State University can serve,” said Williams.
Another community leader at the event was Springfield City Councilmember Matthew Simpson. He visited his old elementary school, Gray Elementary.
