WellSpan to launch first AI Healthcare Agent in the world [Video]

(WHTM) — WellSpan Health will be the first in the world to launch a Hippocratic AI’s Generative AI Healthcare Agent.

WellSpan Health says their new artificially intelligent healthcare agent operates like a human working at a medical facility and will be used to help improve healthcare access, equity, and outcomes.

“This is really exciting for us because it’s an opportunity for us to address some of the health disparities that we’re seeing across our community,” said Kasey Paulus, the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive of WellSpan Health. “We’re particularly starting with a focus area in colorectal cancer screening and prevention.”

WellSpan says it will help thousands of patients who are eligible for colon cancer screenings.

“Part of how we’re using generative AI is through Anna, a generative assistant who is helping us to reach out to patients who haven’t participated in any form of screening yet,” Paulus added.
