SWANTON, Ohio (WTVG) – Staying hopeful in challenging times. One Swanton woman is doing just that as she searches for a bone marrow match that could save her life.
Emma Operacz was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in June and said she isn’t letting that setback stop her from living her best life.
It all started with what she thought was temporary pain …
“I had a UTI that turned into a kidney infection, and basically, it got so bad, that I was bedridden for about a week,” said Operacz.
And it turned into something she never could have imagined.
“They find that my lymph nodes in my groin are swollen. They finally do a biopsy of my lymph nodes, and they find that I have lymphoma,” said Operacz.
It wasn’t an easy road from there, as Operacz’s body wasn’t responding to the medication she was receiving.
