FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – After nearly two decades in education, the Fargo School Superintendent is stepping down.
Dr. Rupak Gandhi made the announcement this week. He will resign after the school year.
Dr. Gandhi came to Fargo in 2018 after more than a decade of education work in Houston and Colorado.
“I can’t think of a conversation I’ve had without tears. That’s how difficult this is,” Dr. Gandhi said. “I don’t think I’d want it any other way. I think I would be concerned if these conversations and if leaving wasn’t as hard as it is.”
Although, education was never part of the plan. Dr. Gandhi actually went to school to study law.
It wasn’t until a program, Teach for America, came to his Greek Life organization. They led him to an inner city classroom where he found his love for the job.
