Local veteran in need gets new car [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Veterans Day has passed, but the Mid-South continues to show its support for those who served.

A Memphis military veteran got the keys to a new vehicle as part of Progressive’s 12th annual Keys to Progress program.

The initiative provides reliable transportation for veterans, military-related organizations, and veteran-owned small business owners across the country.

On Thursday, Willie McHaney was one of nearly 100 recipients of a new ride this year.

“I feel great, I know this is from God. The Lord steps in to help them,” said Willie McHaney.

Since its launch in 2013, the Keys to Progress program has donated more than 1,100 vehicles to veterans with the help of Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
