3 arrested after school threats made to 16 schools in New Orleans [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Schools across New Orleans were on high alert Friday after a wave of new threats of violence, leading to three student arrests, including an 11-year-old, and escalating safety concerns.

In total, 16 schools have now been affected by threats that began Wednesday. Two schools were placed on lockdown Friday and another closed.

New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick expressed her frustration in a press conference, noting the rising frequency of incidents, which jumped from 12 to 16 in just a few hours Friday.

“I am not a tough talker. I am not a cheap talker. But, I’m going to be very clear with you. We are coming for you. We have the ability, through technology, to track you down. You cannot hide under anonymity,” she said.
