A few days ago, I ran into a friend of mine from school who’s now a software engineer. We were catching up on old memories and talking about mundane things as we sipped on our choice of beverage. Time ticked by and we spoke about one thing or the other. Suddenly, the conversation steered into the direction of tech. “Let’s ask Chat-GPT!” my friend said enthusiastically when we wanted to know when the first ever iPod was released.

This little incident made me think about how AI, for some people, has replaced traditional search engines like Google and Microsoft Bing as their primary source of information, which is concerning in itself. LLMs (Large Language Models) like Chat-GPT and GenAI (Generative AI) like Stable Diffusion etc. have made their way into the mainstream.
