Graphics chipmaker NVIDIA is worth more than Australia’s economy and share market. Since the start of the year, its market value has tripled to $5.5 trillion.
The US tech giant released its financial results, and while it reported massive profits, its share price fell 2.5 per cent in after-hours trade on Wall Street.
The company’s market share has ballooned to 80 per cent.
Munro Partners portfolio manager Qiao Ma says NVIDIA is at the helm of a new tech era – following the mainframe computer, PC and mobile phone eras.
She says each of those tech eras has lasted around 10-15 years, and created some of the largest companies in the world, including Microsoft and Apple.
She spoke with The Business presenter David Chau, and discussed where she believes the AI boom is headed.
