LENIOR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) – While the holiday season is in full swing, taking part in holiday shopping and traveling can put people at risk. That’s why Lenoir City Police Chief Don White is sharing tips to stay safe this holiday season.
White said that his department sees an increase in scams over the holidays, both online and in person.
The department took to Facebook to help people try to be more aware of these scams, hopefully to avoid them. WVLT News spoke with the chief about why getting the word out about scams is so important.
“I think its happened to almost everybody, so we did put that information out on ways that you can try to protect yourself, but it is a challenge,” White said.
