FIA wants to use AI to help decision makers [Video]

• During a FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in Rwanda this week the FIA said it would work to lean on AI more to assist decision makers during races.
• The FIA hopes technology can assist with safety, consistency in applying the racing rules and more.
• The federation also announced it would be creating an FIA Esports Code.

During Qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the weekend, Oracle Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez had a lap time deleted for track limit violations. It was marginal, so marginal in fact that the lap time was ultimately reinstated once the stewards decided the Mexican racer had in fact not run wide of the track.
