PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The attorney general has accused a Pennsylvania State Police corporal of storing pornography on his work computer.
Investigators seized Cpl. Stephen Kamnik’s computer at the state police barracks in Skippack and found thousands of pornographic images, according to Attorney General Michelle Henry. Among the cache of images were some that were generated by artificial intelligence, as well as “deepfakes,” artificially created images using an actual person’s likeness.
Kamnik, 38, a Haverford resident who has been a trooper since 2011, is now charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a computer and one misdemeanor count of misapplication of entrusted property.
He surrendered to police Wednesday and was released without posting bail.
Officials say he has been suspended without pay.
