MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – With the winter weather in the rearview mirror, it is a chance for road crews to look back on their work and learn for the next time mother nature strikes.
Both Nichole Lawrence with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and Scott Morgan, the public works director for the City of Memphis, said for it being the first major weather event of the season, they are thrilled with how the roads held up.
“This event was as smooth as it could have been considering it was winter weather,” Lawrence said.
“I mean, it is a great sign, and we will kind of take back any lessons learned from this event,” Morgan said.
Despite around 8 inches of snow in some locations, the roads around town were pretty clear by Friday night and Saturday Morning, and Lawrence stressed it was a perfect storm.
