It may look like a video game, but it is actually a new way of learning.
MIDLAND, Texas — It’s a world of virtual reality (VR) for the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) in Midland.
Diamondback Energy partnered with syGlass to bring a VR STEM Lab to their students.
The lab offers two accredited courses: neuroscience and anatomy and physiology.
It gives students that immersive and hands-on experience to integrate technology and scientific data.
Students were able to research and provide analysis while engaging with professors from John Hopkins, Ohio State, The University of Michigan and The University of South Florida.
“Our future hope is we inspire a passion for STEM,” said Ashley Colquitt, corporate affairs for Diamondback Energy. “They’re learning how to critically think and engage at high levels of neuroscience that may inspire our next surgeon or doctor here in Midland.”
