Don’t tell that to Shawn Blomberg. A founding musician of the alt-music group Ultra Violet Fever and a licensed massage therapist, Blomberg is not only a true believer but also a practitioner of Lucia Light Therapy.
This form of immersive meditative light experience can trace its roots back to circa 160 A.D. though the invention of Lucia N 03, a lamp with flickering lights to achieve expanded states of consciousness, was created by a European neurologist and psychologist a little more than a decade ago.
“My sister is a massage therapist in Sioux Falls where she started doing Lucia Light Therapy,” Blomberg recalled. “My wife Angie and I were playing a musical gig one evening decided to give this new therapy a try earlier in the day.”
