A drug dealer was discovered to be the principle operator of a drugs line after he was caught on CCTV topping up a mobile phone in a Cardiff shop. He used the line to take orders for heroin and crack cocaine.

Amara Harris, 22, was among those who ran the “Omari” drug line and sent “bulk” messages to his customers advertising class A drugs between April and July, 2024.

A sentencing hearing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Monday heard forensic phone data analysis led officers to a shop in Pontcanna where Harris was seen to top up his phone on June 14 last year. Officers sourced the CCTV footage and identified the defendant. For the latest court reports sign up to our crime newsletter here.
