Agrimony asks what it means to take off your mask [Video]

What happens when a ram, a rabbit, an owl, and a wolf meet in the woods? In Agrimony, they heal.

Part contemporary dance and part immersive concert, the work—created by multidisciplinary choreographer Sophie Dow and multi-instrumentalist Laura Reznek—examines what it means to get better. 

“It started with the spiral ram mask,” Dow, who uses all pronouns, says on a video call. “The spiral pays tribute to everything that happens in the mind. And we’ve also drawn a little bit on past injuries and past traumas that a lot of the dancers and I have gone through. I had gone through a series of concussions in 2016, so some of my work and my mask and those sorts of layers have been inspired by that.”
