WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Representative Jennifer Wexton was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder last year, which affected her ability to speak, but last month, we heard her voice with the help of technology created by ElevenLabs.
“I never thought that at my age, in otherwise good health, something like (Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy) could, in the space of just over a year, rob me of my ability to speak, run, or dance and forced me to stop doing the job that I love,” Wexton said in July.
The technology allows users to type in the words they want to say before it is read aloud in the voice they choose. Users can also customize it with their own voice.
