AI Pushes Climate Companies Into a ‘Hero’s Journey,’ Executive Says [Video]

Newsweek brought together a panel of artificial intelligence experts on Wednesday night to discuss the relationship between AI’s potential climate breakthroughs and the large energy consumption required to arrive at them.

Part of Newsweek‘s new Horizons Event Series, the discussion, entitled “AI: Climate Hero or Climate Villain,” featured five panelists and about 100 attendees interested in AI’s climate impact who gathered at the Newsweek office in One World Trade Center in New York City.

Horizons will feature a variety of speaker events offering different perspectives on key issues impacting areas like health care, sustainability, technology and the workplace. Wednesday night’s event was moderated by Newsweek‘s Environmental and Sustainability Editor Jeff Young.
