Amazon Nova can process text, image, and video as prompts

• Amazon Nova is the latest generation of foundation models from AWS.
• It contains six different foundation models that facilitative creative-focused genAI solutions.
• The new offerings will be made available to AWS customers via Amazon Bedrock.

AWS re:Invent 2024 is currently on the go in Las Vegas, and much like last year’s event, the focus for Amazon Web Services (AWS) is in delivering more capabilities and experiences for customers related to generative AI. To that end, Amazon Nova has been announced as the hyperscaler’s latest set of foundation models.

These new foundation models, of which they are currently six available, are capable of processing text, image, and video as prompts. AWS says customers can use Amazon Nova-powered generative AI applications to understand videos, charts, and documents, or generate videos and other multimedia content.
