PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Election Day is just a little over two weeks away on Nov. 5, and with it comes concerns about how AI could make an impact.
The McCain Institute hosted a discussion with various government leaders on Thursday to assess potential AI threats to this year’s election.
Their general consensus was that the main issue from AI in this election cycle isn’t something that could impact the voting itself but rather be used to mislead voters before they head to the polls.
AI technology is growing every day and becoming a convincing way to imitate government officials. Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and his team used AI to put together a deepfake video of himself to showcase the problem AI can cause as early voting is underway.
