Atlanta ranked best city for Black homebuyers [Video]

The ranking evaluates cities based on factors like approval rates, Black homeownership rates, and affordability. With high inclusivity scores and competitive mortgage approval rates, the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta area stands out for providing favorable conditions for Black residents aiming to buy homes.

According to data from the Mortgage Resource Center, there is a 13.3% gap in approval rates between Black and White homebuyers. And although the disparity still exists in Atlanta, the gap is significantly smaller, at 9.5%.

The report highlights that Atlanta, known for its strong Black middle class and diverse economy, offers opportunities for wealth-building and homeownership stability. 

Other cities highly rated for Black homebuyers include Washington, D.C., Dallas, and Charlotte, each praised for fostering inclusive housing markets.
