Bad Knight in Gotham, student Batman fan film, debuts at Sebastiani Theatre [Video]

Recent Sonoma Valley High graduate Adriel Velazquez has been making movies since he was 10 years old. Now 17, Velazquez has just debuted his first feature length film.

“I just started making films and never stopped,” Velazquez said.

“Bad Knight in Gotham” shows a defeated and down on his luck Joker as he works to kidnap corrupt DA Harvey Dent with the help of some fellow villains.

The fan film clocks in just under two and a half hours and mixes comedy and action sequences to backdrops familiar to Sonoma residents, from the local library to the Plaza and the SVHS campus.

Velazquez stars as the Joker and served as the film’s writer and director. He started the screenplay during his sophomore year.

The rest of the cast is largely comprised of Velazquez’ friends and classmates, with a notable exception being Joker’s steady secretary Ernesto played by Velazquez’ father Reimundo.
