The coronation ceremony for the heir to the Balobedu’s throne, Princess Masalanabo Modjadi, has been set for March next year.
This is according to a statement by the princess’ office.
Last week, President Cyril Ramaphosa released a statement in which he issued the princess with a certificate of recognition.
This will see her become the Balobedu queen.
The princess will succeed her mother, the late Queen Makobo Modjadji the sixth.

According to the statement, the princess is currently in the process of establishing her royal council.
There are currently two parallel royal councils.
One is the Modjadji royal council, led by the princess’s uncle and current regent, Prince Mpapatla Modjadji.
There is also the Balobedu royal council, which has over the years stated that the throne is the princess’ birthright.
