The battle for the Vhavenda kingship will resume in the High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo today.
Princess Masindi Mphephu is challenging her uncle, the former Vhavenda King, Prince Toni Mphephu-Ramabulana, for the throne.
The Supreme Court of Appeal stripped the Prince of the crown. In its judgment, the court also ordered the withdrawal of the Prince’s recognition certificate.
The matter was postponed in 2024 to 2025 to allow the legal council of Princess Masindi Mphephu and her uncle Prince Mphephu-Ramabulana to make a determination on the evidence to be disputed.
The matter has been set for the whole week. Princess Masindi Mphephu and all her witnesses have already testified.
Few remaining witnesses of Prince Mphephu-Ramabulana are expected to take the stand when the hearing proceeds.
Prince Mphephu-Ramabulana is also expected to testify this week.
