Nancy Aylward celebrated her 63rd birthday in October, a date she was not sure she would make it to. Many may not reflect on the advancements in medicine and technology, or fully appreciate the resoluteness of the doctor wearing the stethoscope, until it’s one’s life on the table.
“I am very grateful to be here — I really did not think I would be at one point — very grateful to still be alive and able to enjoy life,” Aylward said. “I really do feel I owe my life to Dr. Watson.”
