Bloomington woman chosen to sing national anthem at a White Sox game [Video]

MCLEAN COUNTY (25News Now) – A 25-year-old music teacher from Bloomington, Destinee Feliciano, was announced as the winner of the Chicago White Sox National Anthem Contest. She is a lifelong fan of the team. Feliciano will sing the anthem before the game on Tuesday, Sept. 10 vs. Cleveland at 6:40 p.m.

“It really does mean the world. I feel like singing the national anthem at a sports game, like a major sports game, is something that a lot of singers, if not all singers, are like ‘I want to do that someday!’ So, the fact that I get to do it for my favorite team is huge to me. It’s like a dream come true,” Feliciano said.

This will be Feliciano’s second time performing for the White Sox and their fans. She previously performed the anthem before a game as part of an a cappella group in 2019.
