The Toronto Blue Jays broke their free agent drought by signing Anthony Santander, but according to a new report they aren’t done trying to add to their lineup.
Hector Gomez of Z101 Digital, who reported earlier in January that the Blue Jays were frontrunners to sign Santander, now reports that Toronto is targeting two more hitters to add to their lineup: either Pete Alonso or Jurickson Profar.
Santander, a switch-hitting outfielder, hit 44 home runs last season. He has 155 home runs and 435 RBIs over the last eight seasons, all with Baltimore.
The Venezuelan native will add depth to a Toronto lineup that struggled to hit for power in 2024.
