CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — The Digital Equity Pilot Program has started at seven public libraries in Connecticut, aiming to bridge the digital divide using equity and inclusion.

“There’s a lot of people out there that have nobody to call,” Daniel Velez, a digital navigator, said. “There’s a lot of people who don’t have help and they’re just stuck.”
Daniel Velez knows how impactful it can be to help someone navigate technology.
“I was leaving for college,” Velez explained. “I knew I wouldn’t be home anymore. My dad needed to pay bills and do things on the computer, and I wanted to get him to a point to be self-sufficient.”
He’s now helping others do the same as a digital navigator through this program.
