Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Delta’s Ed Bastian both had strong stories to tell at CES. But why did one engage the audience so much better than the other? Jean Foster, who knows the event better than most from six years with the organizing team, reports back from the show floor.

CES 2025 lit up Las Vegas last week with a dazzling showcase of innovation and transformative tech. For my 8th CES, I donned my sparkly sneakers and hit the show floor to find the tech shaping how we live, work and play.

As expected, AI was the main story. It was in everything from home appliances and cutesy robots to digital health and self-driving taxis. However, this year I felt there were fewer “oh wow” moments. It was more about the maturation and practical deployment of AI innovations. AI is growing up.
