Chandler-Gilbert Community College to offer bachelors degree in AI [Video]

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) will offer a four-year degree in artificial intelligence.

The curriculum was crafted with the help of industry leaders who told CGCC what they were looking for in terms of employment.

While many have feared that AI will replace jobs, the school’s dean of instruction, Gabriela Rosu, doesn’t see it that way.

“They will have the knowledge and the tools to be developers in every sector or area,” said Rosu. “Yes, AI is going to eliminate some of the jobs but it will create more jobs than we have before.”

Rosu said people who have their associate degrees from CGCC are already earning top dollar in the market. The first courses for the four-year program are scheduled to begin in the Fall 2025 semester.
