GOOGLE’S flagship generative AI model is getting a boost, as the company desperately tries to match ChatGPT’s momentum.

The tech giant’s flagship chatbot will answer more quickly and cogently thanks to a brand-new update.

Starting today, users can upgrade to Gemini 1.5 Flash and expect to see “across-the-board improvements in quality and latency,” according to a company blog post.

The 1.5 Flash model was announced at Google’s I/O developer conference in May, with the tech giant touting it as the fastest Gemini yet.

It comes hot on the heels of OpenAI‘s GPT-4o mini, the company’s “most capable and cost-efficient small model” released last week.

Just today, Google‘s parent company, Alphabet Inc., saw its shares dip after OpenAI announced a prototype of a search engine called SearchGPT.
