CLASSROOM CHAMPIONS: Griffin Rial, Pine Creek Wrestling [Video]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Pine Creek senior wrestler, Griffin Rial is a three-time state placer and won state last year as a junior. This winter, he will have a chance to repeat as a 5A champion.

“I don’t want to just win, I want to dominate it,” Rial says.

No matter what happens on the mats this season, Rial knows his wrestling career will continue on, at the Air Force Academy.

“I fell in love with it immediately when I got there. The environment was very cool … Air Force is big on leadership and I feel like I had a big leadership role here,” said Rial.

It’s a perfect match for Rial who comes from a military family. His great grandfather went to the Air Force Academy and encouraged him through the process alongside Pine Creek head wrestling coach, Billy Gabel.
