Despite having only one game on the schedule, the last two weeks have been plenty busy for the fifth-ranked College Station football team.
Two weeks ago, the Cougars wrapped up their regular season with a 44-38 come-from-behind road win over Pflugerville Weiss in District 12-5A-I play.
That matchup was important because it dictated playoff seeding with the winner finishing as the second-place team and getting a home game in the bi-district round.
The last time College Station didn’t host a first-round matchup was in 2018 when they traveled to Mesquite to take on Poteet.
“It was a major relief,” College Station linebacker Liam Ponte said. “I always want to play another one here, the energy and the crowd is just amazing.”
