DC high school unveils hydroponic greenhouse [Video]

Students will learn new hydroponic farming techniques combining AI and other methods to further students’ educations and empower them to grow food.

WASHINGTON — Here at WUSA9, we are all about the environment. So today we are getting uplifted by a state-of-the-art facility at Anacostia High School in Southeast D.C.  

With the help of the University of the District of Columbia, Anacostia High is now the proud home of a new hydroponic greenhouse that will also serve as a living classroom, where these scholars will learn new hydroponic farming techniques combining AI and other methods to further students’ educations and, potentially, empower them to grow food in their community.

Hydroponic growing is water-based in controlled environments, doesn’t need soil and the systems are affordable and sustainable.
