Deloitte Ireland has appointed Kate English to the newly created position of chief economist in what the professional services giant described as reflecting its “commitment to strengthening its leadership and analysis in a rapidly evolving global and local economy.”
English joined Deloitte in December 2022, establishing and leading the company’s real estate research team.
In her new role, English and her team will conduct data-driven research across broader economic and policy areas, offering analysis and assessing macroeconomic trends within Ireland and its key trading markets.
English has a Master’s in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from UCC, and Deloitte said she had established herself as a trusted authority and commentator in real estate analysis.
The New Inn, Co Tipperary native is a recognised commentator on global macroeconomic trends, fiscal policy, capital markets, demographics and employment trends, and she frequently presents market updates and panel discussions across national broadcast and print media.
