ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Dimond Athlete Cayden Pili was named the 2024-25 Alaska Football Gatorade Player of the Year, the brand announced Friday.
First awarded in 1985, Pili is the second player in Lynx history to receive the honor, joining 1987-88 selection Brian Haas.
“It’s a well deserved achievement,” Dimond head coach Brian Yim said. “He worked hard for it, had a great year and I’m glad he’s getting the recognition for it.”
Pili was also named the MaxPreps Alaska Player of the Year in October.
Standing at 5′9″ and 150 pounds, the younger brother of fellow GPOY selection and current WNBA Player Alissa Pili had a season for the ages. Pili ended the year throwing and running for a combined 2,694 yards and 40 touchdowns.
