ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – During election season, avoiding “I Voted” stickers is impossible. They’re on shirts, social media and even people’s faces.
And if you vote in DeKalb County, you could get a sticker designed by a citizen who can’t vote yet.
That student? Druid Hills High School junior Charlie Anderson, who channelled her bird obsession into a DeKalb County sticker design.
“So, this is a little embroidery I did,” Anderson said, holding up a patch that looked suspiciously like a rotund bird. “It’s a very plump pigeon.”
Anderson’s sticker design won a county-wide contest for a new “I Voted” sticker.
“It has Stone Mountain in the background,” she said, showing off the details. “The courthouse in the front, southern magnolia in the foreground with a dove, and some bald eagles because America.”
The victory carried a $500 prize, for which Anderson received a giant check.
