PHOENIX — Inside a packed school board meeting in Phoenix, people demanded the resignation of two governing board members.
Cartwright School Board President and State Rep. Lydia Hernandez, alongside newly elected board member Cassandra Hernandez faced criticism from the crowd because of their relationship.
Cassandra is Rep. Hernandez’s 19-year-old daughter.
“I request the immediate resignation of the board president Lydia Hernandez and her daughter Cassandra,” said one woman during public comment.
“They are directly related which is a huge conflict of interest,” said Junio Campo.
One man was asked to be escorted out by police by the board President for yelling in the crowd during public comment.
