DES MOINES, Iowa (Gray Media Iowa Capitol Bureau) – Election day is 81 days away and Iowans will be thinking about which candidates they want to serve them.
We spent the past few days at the Iowa State Fair catching up with voters to see what’s on their mind.
Natalie Whelchel of Iowa City says education will be her top issue this election. “I work as an early childhood special educator and so the AEAs really benefit me as a teacher and I work with a lot of the AEA staff in my building so it’s really important to the future of our special education students,” Welchel said.
Inflation has fallen below 3% for the first time since 2021.
Still, Kim Hubbard of Ankeny says she’s feeling the squeeze in her wallet. “We want to get the cost of living under control, you know. I think we pay a little bit too much for utilities, food is off …
