A planned meeting between Republican Elon Musk and rival Democrat billionaire Alexander Soros to discuss politics has sent social media into a frenzy.
The conversation unfolded on X late on Tuesday after both billionaires responded to journalist John Nichols’ comment, where he claimed that ‘neither’ Trump nor Harris won the majority of votes cast in the 2024 presidential election.
Nichols, basing his analysis on the ongoing popular vote count, wrote: ‘Trump has steadily ticked down as votes are counted. Harris has ticked up.’ He said the count puts Trump at 49.94% and Harris at 48.26%.
The journalist’s tweet read: ‘On election night, Trump claimed a “powerful mandate.” At that point, he was winning well over 50% of the vote. But there were tens of millions of uncounted votes. As the count nears completion, it reveals that most Americans did not vote for Trump.’
