Fenton Area Public Schools implements ‘ZeroEyes,’ an AI gun detection software | Education [Video]

FENTON, Mich. (WJRT) – Schools across the nation, including here in Mid-Michigan, are trying to find ways to beef up security after multiple mass shootings have taken countless lives. 

Fenton Area Public Schools is hoping that the use of AI will help stop the threat.

The school district has depliyed “ZeroEyes AI Gun Detection.” District officials are calling it a situational awareness platform which will help school proactively monitor and respond to gun-related issues.

The technology was created by retired Navy Seals and alw enforcement. It is used through a school or business camera system.

The idea is to detect a threat and stop it before something escalates.

“It happens a lot,” said ZeroEyes Cofounder/COO Rob Huberty. “They show their guns long before they ever pull the trigger. It is out and it is one element of it.”
