GADSDEN, Ala. (WBRC) – The Gadsden State Community College Police Department is helping launch a program targeting bullying. Officers are joining forces with Gadsden City Schools and area leaders to launch an anti-bullying initiative for 5th graders.
Gadsden State Police Chief Jay Freeman says this new Golden Rule Program will feature a series of one hour school meetings with elementary students to encourage them by talking and demonstrating the importance of compassion and respect.
He says when it comes to bullying, we live in a different time and added that kids spend hours on social media and are introduced to the digital age of bullying at an early age. He says even though the times have changed, your morals and values should not.
