The man told his coworker he would win the Cash 5 jackpot – later that night, his prediction was proven correct.
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Cameron Vick, a UPS driver for 37 years and a Greensboro native, decided last minute he’d buy a $1 Cash 5 ticket online.
“It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing,” he said. “I really just decided to play out of the blue.”
That night, Vick told a man on his route he was going to win the jackpot. That night, he won $160,756.
He claimed his prize at the NC Education Lottery’s Raleigh headquarters on Monday. After taxes, he took home $114,941.
Vick said he plans to spend his winnings on home repairs.
