RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – People across KOTA Territory are preparing to celebrate the end of 2024 and welcome in the New Year.

However you choose to celebrate the New Year, if you plan on drinking alcohol, be responsible.

“I would say the majority of calls revolve around alcohol and drugs as well, people driving while intoxicated, or maybe you’re having a get-together at your home, people are drinking, things get out of hand, family members start to argue, things like that,” PCSO Deputy Sheriff Brain Harlan said.

Authorities emphasize the importance of planning safe transportation.
