COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On Monday, the Secretary of State’s office sent out guidelines to avoid election misinformation in the forms of texts, emails, and social media posts.
Safe sources to research election information include:
- Government sites ending in.gov
- Directly asking state and local Government officials
- reputable media outlets and social media pages (also considering the author’s intent)
11 News spoke with people in Colorado Springs about the messages they are getting and how they avoid misinformation.
“I mean, it’s for sure a huge issue. I mean all of us are on Facebook with all of our family members and it’s kind of just being spread around like crazy so that’s definitely something,” said Ema Dinndorf.
