This is the third MLK Jr. Classic where Howard is facing off against Morehouse, Dr. King’s alma mater.
WASHINGTON — Despite the freezing temperatures, the Howard Bisons warmed up Monday to face the Morehouse Tigers in the ninth annual MLK Jr. Classic basketball game.
This will be Joshua Strong’s second Classic, and he says it’s always an honor to use his talents to pay homage to Dr. King.
“Paying respect to him by competing at the highest level on today’s date, it’s something that I’m excited to look forward to,” he said. “I think it’s great that this is a healthy tradition and I’m excited to keep it going.”
The two schools have a shared history when it comes to Dr. King.
